The Hyvity team in Vietnam is growing stronger!
We are proud to welcome Richard Parpaillon, a hydroelectric engineer, to our joint venture, Hydro Asia Development, created from the partnership between Hyvity and Novasia, a specialist in greenfield wind project developments in ASEAN.
His arrival in Vietnam, scheduled for the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE), which will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from October 21 to 23, will strengthen our team dedicated to the ambitious development program of our subsidiary in the country.
Among his main tasks:
- Organizing and overseeing a project to study the hydroelectric potential of existing sites.
- Analyzing priority projects listed in Vietnam’s “PDP8” Master Plan. This involves sourcing, mapping, and prefeasibility analysis to propose tailored solutions to local stakeholders, integrating environmental and climate challenges, in order to develop the most relevant projects according to international standards alongside them.
- Overseeing the identified storage development projects.
Welcome to the team!
“At a time when climate change and environmental issues have become a global threat, I wanted to do something to try to limit, in my own way, the impacts we are already witnessing today.
As Vietnam experiences growth in both population and economy, the country has shown its ambition to achieve carbon neutrality. This will require a rapid and massive energy transition, in which I believe hydropower, through Hyvity’s expertise and the country’s resources, will play a key role.
By working with the Vietnamese people towards this goal, seeking complementary and low-impact ways to generate electricity, I hope we will become one of the building blocks contributing to a better future.”
